Hamstall Ridware has returned to the town that forged him. Poet, columnist and ‘recorder of life’s forgotten moments’ he left London following a protracted relationship breakdown and career hiatus to reappraise his life in the north Midlands.
Back in the box-room bedroom he grew up in (a decision that was entirely his choice) he’s able to reflect on life and society among the Airfix models and football sticker albums he never completed. Again, this is his choice.
It doesn’t say Hamstall Ridware on his birth certificate, but for creative and legal reasons this is the way it is. He works in the public sector.
